Our CEO and COO are officially carbon literate!

Becky and Victoria's Carbon Literate Certificates provided by NTU's SAIL course

We are excited to announce that our CEO Victoria Green and COO Becky Valentine are officially Carbon Literate after undertaking training as part of Nottingham Trent University’s free Sustainability and Inclusive Leadership (SAIL) programme, building on their existing energy efficiency knowledge.

The course has equipped us with the knowledge to renovate our creative spaces in such a way that significantly increases their energy efficiency – helping tenants to reduce their costs while working towards their environmental, social and governance (ESG) targets, and supporting the United Nations’ sustainable development goals (SDGs).

After undertaking training as part of Nottingham Trent University’s SAIL programme last year, NBSCarbon Literacy Training course has already made a big difference in how we have embedded the circular economy into our operations, as we do our bit to work towards meeting Nottingham City Council’s Carbon Neutral Nottingham 2028 pledge.

Spenbeck is genuinely committed to meeting the CN2028 Pledge. Being carbon literate means we aren’t greenwashing or tinkering around the edges, but using this knowledge alongside our passion and commitment to provide environmentally-sustainable spaces to help our tenants meet their sustainability goals, boosting client and staff retention.

We would like to offer our thanks to Helen Taylor MBA, Aldilla Dharmasasmita, Dr Alexandra Mifsud and NTU’s SAIL team for a very informative and impactful three days. Please get in touch with the team at SAIL@ntu.ac.uk for further information about the course, and explore how it can make a difference to your SME.
